How do I name a section of cells?! Lets start naming ranges!
We can do this in excel with a built-in excel tool:
- Defined Names: name a particular group of cells
Example
Let’s use an example to illustrate the formula. Let’s label the Pet column with the name Pets (the black cells).
The Steps – Naming Ranges
Highlight the Pet column and use the Name Box to type in a chosen name (Pets)
Thats it! You’ve named your range! You can now reference this in formulas
Test it out in a few simple formulas
Delete, Edit or Check on your named ranges from the name manager.
Access this from the Formulas Section of your Ribbon.
